I LOVE THE COMMERCIAL THAT SAYS:
"HI! I BAKED YOU A CAKE. IT'S BURNT, BUT THAT'S BECAUSE YOU'RE A HOTTIE FROM HOTTINGHAM!"
WE MADE LOADS OF SUGAR COOKIES FOR OUR FRIENDS AND PEOPLE WE WORK WITH AND LOVE!
THIS IS MY FAVORITE RECIPE EVER FOR SUGAR COOKIES.....COURTESY OF MY GOOD FRIEND CANDICE!(who is the best cookie maker EVER) Funny story, we first tasted Candices cookies in 2001. Zach loved them and wanted me to get the recipe. She gladly gave it to me but I wanted to wait and make them for Zach's valentines gift so I told him when he asked about the cookies that she said it was a family secret. He said that's CRAP! He moped and was kinda annoyed at Candice....sorry. Then he was so suprised on Valentines day, even though they were not as perfect as Candices. But I get better every year and they are so soft and yummy and I love the Almond!
SUGAR COOKIES
1 cup butter
1 egg
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. creme of tartar
Mix butter, sugar, egg, vaniilla and almond extract. Add dry ingredients. Cover and chill for 2-3hrs. Roll to 1/4" thickness, cut into shapes. Bake on lightly greased baking sheet at 375 for 7-8 minutes. Cool and frost and decorate!

Funny Syd and Mally
I remember my favorite things to read in my Mom's journal were the cute or funny things
we kids did. So I thought I would journal some funny things everyone has said or done lately!
Grandpa Jones after making fish tacos we asked him why he chose fish sticks and he said for the "HALIBUT!"
Sydney loved playing with these velcro vegetables at the Joneses house and you could cut them apart with a little plastic knife. Well someone stuck a cucumber piece to a corn piece and part of an onion together. Grandpa Craig said it's a CUCORNION! We called him a cucornion the rest of the week because he is so CORNY!!! he he
Sydney has been saying freakin' lately. The other day the girls were eating pizza in the kitchen and I had to run to the bedroom and do something and I asked Sydney to call me when they were done. Sydney yells a few minutes late "Hey MOM there is a chubby little baby in here who needs you!" She also calls Mallory Babe sometimes after I have called her that. Mallory has been giving Sydney alot more kisses and cuddles lately and let Sydney hug her when she gets in trouble or is crying. It is cute.
Sydney brought some little baby barbies to graduation that Natalie let her play with. When we were driving home I asked where her dolls were and she got a panicked look on her face and told Breck "Don't tell Natalie, PINKY'S?" Then she said "Mom don't tell her, PROMISE?" We found the dolls the next day, Natalie had brought them home.
SOME THINGS SYDNEY HAS SAID LATELY:
-WHO FARTED? Anytime she hears any funny noise.
-That is SO RUDE!
-See ya wouldn't wanna be you either!
-Oh my gosh.........well she has said the real thing a couple of times and we have discussed that is not nice to say. She said OH MY G** when she walked out the front door and saw our Yard Sale with some old toys and clothes etc. Rachelle and Vanessa were down and about died laughing.
MALLORY IS GROWING UP!
Mallory is getting so big. She has been walking since the end of Novemeber. She still falls alot and walks like a zombie with her arms out in front of her to grab onto someone or something if she gets tipsy. She has barely enough hair to get 2 little piggy tails in. She says kisses now when she gets in the mood to smooch. She also is throwing more fits when she doesn't get what she wants and throws her head back when angry!
11/07 CRAZY SYDNEY
Zach taught Sydney Credit Card and Check your Oil! This is when she runs her hand up your Bum and then pokes you with her finger on your Bum! Well it back fired and she did this to Zach at an afterhours get together at the bank in front of some of the loan officers.he he Then last week she walked thru the kitchen and exclaimed my OIL hurts! We've created a freak!
Zach also teaches her to say WHATEVER and put three fingers up and peace out etc.
When Sydney gets hurt or if she does something bad or if we tell her sorry about something she just says IT'S OK I STILL LOVE YOU, very matter of fact.
We have been trying a sticker chart for good behavior towards a toy. When Sydney is naughty and we say "ok no sticker today" she says "It's ok I will try tomorrow"
OH WELL.....She says I love you so much and thank you so much!
Syd had a fever last week and woke up in the night saying how much she loves candy canes it was random and funny!
CUTE THINGS ABOUT MALLORY
Mallory smiles and laughs anytime I laugh. She thinks I am hillarious. We think she says Dadda and Mom sometimes but really the only word I know she says is Dog. She gets so excited when she sees or hears a dog. She also perks up like a puppy when she hears someone come home or the garage door

CHRISTMAS IS OVER!
It is so cold lately......we have had snow and ice and wind storms. We had to replace some shingles on our roof a few weeks ago from a terrible windstorm that was over 40 miles per hour. It was like a mini tornado. Then it snowed alot. But the girls really enjoyed playing in the snow. We finally made a small snowman too.
I worked new years eve so we didn't have a party. We took all the christmas decorations down the next few days. Sydney was so sad. She kept saying it is still christmas outside. Then when it snowed she said " see I told ya so it's still, christmas."
We went to Salt Lake for a quick weekend trip for a friends temple sealing. We left the girls with the Kelsey Grandparents and they had a fun slumber party and tea parties. Zach and I made ourselves sick eating too much Olive Garden, watched football, played games and of course enjoyed a day off from the kids.
Christmas was fun! We stayed here in Idaho and had a simple, sweet christmas with our little girls. Aunt Vanessa spent Christmas with us too, she stayed 5 days with us. The girls were spoiled by everyone. Sydney's main gifts from Santa were a barbie laptop and a pink kid digital camera. Mallory got foam blocks and lots of clothes and shoes. I gave Zach golf clubs and he gave me a gift card and a Cinderella figurine. We spoiled Vanessa a little too. We had christmas yummy lunch at the Kelsey's and they gave us way too many gifts. Including 1000 thread count sheets. We made yummy homemade toffee, candycane cookies and pumpkin rolls and delivered them to family and friends on christmas eve. We had a special story and scripture on christmas eve from Mom that everyone barely tolerated.=) I love the holidays and how much service and love. This is our gifts back to Christ for all that he has done for us. Hope you all had a merry christmas!

THANKSGIVING WEEK
What a fun vacation we had to California over thanksgiving. We drove straight to California and spent the night with Grandma and Grandpa Jones at 2am. We slept in and had breakfast with them and then we drove to San Diego and went to the Zoo. We just spent the afternoon and looked at the animals and took a sky ride across the park and a bus tour too.
We spent the night and then we got up and spent the whole day at Seaworld. I hadn't been there since I was a little kid. It was a really relaxing day. We saw Shamu of course and Sydney wanted to ride the whale like a cowgirl but watching the other people do it was just as cool she decided. We also fed the dolphins and petted their heads. Both the girls loved that. Sydney went on a water ride there with a huge plunge and she was giddy and loved it. That was the start of her bravery on rides on this trip. After SeaWorld we went to the airport and picked up Aunt Camille who gladly came early to help us with the kids at Disneyland. We drove to Anaheim and stayed the night in our hotel. It was a suite but it only had one bed so Sydney and Camille shared an L shaped couch at night.
Then we went to Disneyland, and California Adventure for 2 days. It was kind of busy in Disneyland. Sydney was tall enough to ride all of the rides except one. She even went on Splash mountain and Space mountain multiple times. She also squealed on Flying over California and wasn't scared too much even of the Tower of Terror. Mallory wasn't very amused until she rode the spychodelic Winnie the Pooh ride. She was content most of the day in her stroller. Camille loved the Roller Coaster in California Adventure the best! We watched the Fantasmic show close to the water and sat on our blanket. Sydney loved it! Sydney also met many princesses and got lots of pictures with them.
We spent the next few days at Grandma and Grandpa Joneses. We had a big thanksgiving dinner and played games at the Church. That night we watched a 3d movie called Beowolf. It was mostly stupid but had some cool 3d parts. Friday we took Sydney to Universal studios in the morning. We saw some fun shows and went on a few rides. It was quick but the tickets were pretty much free with our costco California City passes we bought. Chad and Ashley watched Mallory. That night was Grandpa Jones' 80th birthday party. Grandma hosted a potluck dinner and then we had a program about grandpa's life and cake. It was fun to learn things about Grandpa.
Last, we went to Disneyland one more day with all the Jones kids on Saturday. It was a blast. Sydney never picked mom or dad to sit by on the rides this time. She loves all her Aunts and Uncles!
We drove halfway home to Las Vegas that night and the rest of the drive home on Sunday. The drive was safe although we had a few people try to slam into our lanes. The girls were really good on the drive and it was fun to visit with Zach for hours about everything under the sun! We all got spoiled. We try not to buy too many toys and don't buy to fancy of clothes but we do like to do fun things and go on fun trips!!!!
